Our Mission
Ach Gadol USA (DBA Friends of AGI) stands wholeheartedly with the State of Israel and its diverse society and is dedicated to supporting at-risk populations in the country and advancing them and their capabilities as citizens of the country.
Specifically, our mission is to support Lone Soldiers who serve their mandatory conscription in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) without the presence or support of immediate family in Israel. Ach Gadol USA partners to provide the support network through a Big Sib framework to positively impact these individuals who are at a most crucial juncture of their lives. Ach Gadol USA believes that meaningful, sustained personal support during the challenging and formative years of military service can help Lone Soldiers successfully complete their service and build strong, positive, and productive lives in Israeli society as contributory citizens of the democratic state.
Ach Gadol USA advances this mission primarily through the support of one-to-one mentorship, at its core a “Big Sib” model, building trusted relationships and lifelong networks of support. This commitment extends across the Lone Soldier journey—from pre-draft preparation, through military service, and into post-discharge life.
Friends of AGI is committed to facilitating 1-on-1 mentoring programs for lone soldiers in Israel. Whether native-born or new immigrants, Friends of AGI see the sacrifice and the challenges of Israel's most dedicated servicemembers and recognize their needs. Each soldier is a world in and unto themselves, and the challenges they face are unique to them. This is why personalized support and assistance from volunteers who have been in their shoes is key.
1-to-1 mentoring programs are the building blocks of robust social networks of excellence-focused, zionist individuals who push each other to succeed. This belief, that family and community ties are a function of strong "inter-generational" bonds between big and little siblings is what inspires us to support exactly this type of programming.
We are proud to be aligned with the goals of organizations like Ach Gadol for Lone Soldiers in Israel, which fulfill a mandate similar to our own and deal with the praxis of this important mission. We support missions like theirs for lone soldiers before, during, and long after their active service.
Ach Gadol USA (DBA Friends of AGI), is a nonprofit corporation registered in the State of Texas, and is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
